Believing in the Impossible: A Devotion for Christian High Performers

“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'” – Matthew 19:26 (NIV)

Devotion:

As Christian high performers, we often find ourselves striving for excellence, pushing boundaries, and reaching for goals that may seem beyond our grasp. In the pursuit of our dreams, we encounter challenges that test our faith and resilience. Yet, in the midst of our endeavors, let us be reminded of the profound truth declared by Jesus himself: “With God, all things are possible.”

Our human limitations may lead us to believe that certain aspirations are unattainable or that certain obstacles are insurmountable. However, as believers, we are called to a different perspective—a perspective rooted in faith and anchored in the power of our Almighty God.

Consider the stories of countless individuals throughout the Bible who dared to believe in the impossible. Abraham and Sarah, though advanced in years, were blessed with a child in their old age. David, a shepherd boy, defeated the mighty Goliath with a single stone. Mary, a humble virgin, gave birth to the Savior of the world.

These accounts serve as powerful reminders that God specializes in the impossible. He delights in turning the ordinary into extraordinary, the weak into strong, and the hopeless into hopeful. As Christian high performers, let us cultivate a steadfast faith that transcends the confines of human reasoning.

When faced with daunting challenges or seemingly impossible circumstances, let us not be discouraged or disheartened. Instead, let us lift our eyes to the heavens and fix our gaze upon the one who holds all power and authority. In God’s hands, our limitations become opportunities for His glory to shine forth.

May we approach each day with unwavering confidence in God’s ability to accomplish the impossible in and through us. Let us surrender our fears, doubts, and insecurities, and boldly step into the realm of the miraculous.

As we continue to pursue our goals and dreams, may we do so with faith-filled hearts, trusting that God is able to do immeasurably more than we could ever ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). For indeed, with God, all things are possible.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the assurance that with You, all things are possible. Help us, as Christian high performers, to cultivate a deep and unwavering faith in Your power and provision. Strengthen us to believe in the impossible and to trust in Your perfect timing and plan for our lives. May we never lose sight of Your sovereignty, knowing that You are able to accomplish far beyond anything we could ever imagine. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
