Have you ever thought about what it would mean to you to not achieve that goal you are working towards?
It’s so easy and typical for us to say, “oh, I will on the goal tomorrow.” However, tomorrow quickly can become three months from then.
The question you have to ask yourself is what joy are you taking away from yourself by not starting on the action steps towards this goal now?
Remember, we don’t need to take big steps toward our goals. It’s when we are steady, consistent and take small steps toward our goal that we are more likely to obtain our goal. However, sometimes when we identify the pain of not achieving something we become more committed to achieving it.
Many of the goals we are must hungry to accomplish will bring us the greatest joy.
Take a few minutes to jot down the pain, remorse or sadness of not achieving your goals. Once you have a few things, write down all the joy achieving such a goal would bring. Focus more on the inner joys, not the financial or outward success of the achievement would bring.
