Bad habits – they suck! We all have them, and no one wants them. For some reason, we settle with them when we can remove them. Instead of giving in to your bad habits or focusing on how they are a problem. I want you to take some time right now to identify what bad habits do you participate with that are causing you to not walk on the path you desire.
This is what I want you to do. Grab a pen and paper, write three columns down: In your first column title it “bad habits;” in your second column title it “habits desired” and in your third column title it “action steps.”
Now take a few minutes to identify your bad habits and what habits you want to replace the pattern with. Next, write down your action steps, when you feel like doing Bad Habit A you will instead do Desired Habit A. Then I want you to explain your reason for participating with this desired habit.
For example, if you want to start your own company but every day after work you come home and turn the TV on this would be Bad Habit A.
Desired Habit A would begin working on my company. The reason for this is because it will bring me more prosperity, and it is in line with my life purpose and focus. Alternatively, let’s say you want to stop being lazy and get in shape. Well, your reason would be getting in shape will allow me to do so many more things with more energy in my daily life. I will begin living life more fully then living life in mediocrity.
Once you identify the root of the Bad Habits, you want to eliminate your need to immediately replace it with a habit you are hungry for and set yourself up with success. You do this by breaking your goals down into baby-steps that keep the momentum of victory going.
