Here is a quick way to identify if you’re selfish! You’re selfish when you only pray for your needs. It might hurt, but it’s true. Instead of allowing the wound of knowing your selfish to take over your thinking, be thankful you are aware so you can change and renew your thinking! Repent and move forward.
Our Father uses people in his Kingdom to move His Kingdom. He uses people to shape us. We are to be a blessed so we can be a blessing to others (Genesis 12:2). We are to have an abundance so we can bless people and bring God’s covenant to earth. If you are only praying for your needs, you are being selfish. Praying for enough is never enough in God’s Kingdom. It’s never biblical or abundant thinking to pray for JUST your needs. When you do that you are still in a poverty mindset. You will still have lack, and God says He wants you to have more than enough, an abundance (2 Corinthians 9:8). We are to pray for more so we can give more. It’s better to give than receive (Acts 20:35).
Consider this question for a moment. If you are not prosperous – if you don’t have more than enough, perhaps you are limiting God by only praying for enough? If you are always thinking about what you don’t have (notice where your focus is), afraid you will not be able to pay your bills, so you hoarder money away, or refuse to help other people achieve their needs; then it’s fair to say you have a poverty mindset. Until you change your thinking, you will not receive God’s promises for you. Start sowing into other people the things you want. But, make sure your heart and intentions are right. You must have a glad and joyful heart to do so. If you do it with fear and out of a performance mindset, then you are still in lack.
I am believing with you that your mindset will change. I will walk with you. I stand firm knowing abundance is about to chase you down like an avalanche!
